The ICS offers academic tutoring for all levels of Spanish language, and Spanish literature. Tutoring is available to all ICS students enrolled in these courses. The sessions are held at different times and days throughout the week in order to make them available for everyone. During the first week of the semester the tutoring schedule is posted on the academic bulletin board, located beside the main office of the ICS.
Most ICS students wish to improve or perfect their Spanish and many Spanish students wish to do the same in English. Stemming from the idea that practice makes perfect, the ICS has created the "Intercambio program" , or program of linguistic exchange.
Those students interested in participating are able sign up for this program with Student Services, located in the main office of the ICS. Places are available as of the first day of Orientation.
Once enrolled in the program, each ICS student is assigned a Spaniard (generally a student) and agree to meet and practice both Spanish and English from three to four hours a week. The meeting hours and grounds are established the first day.
Most students agree that participating in the Intercambio program is an ideal way of meeting Spanish students, and making friends. Through your first Spanish friend you probably will meet more Spaniards, his or her friends, and thus learn more about Spanish society, its traditions and customs... and language.
